  • Oklahoma State Department of Health
    The mission of the Maternal and Child Health Service is to protect and promote the health of Oklahoma's women, children and families by assessing health status, establishing evidence-based priorities and providing leadership to assure the availability of individual, family and population-based services.

    • Adolescent Health Program - Mission of Program: To address the most important health challenges among young people, which include too-early parenthood, intentional and unintentional injury, violence, substance abuse, and access to primary health care.

    • Children First Program - The mission of the Children First Program is to produce healthy family members and enhance a family's ability to care for itself, which leads to: Improvement of pregnancy outcomes, Improvement of child health, Improvement of child development, Strengthened bond between child and parent, Achievement of personal goals, Improved utilization of and collaboration with community resources.  The program encourages early and continuous prenatal care, personal development, and the involvement of fathers, grandparents and other supporting persons in parenting.
    • Early Childhood Development And Parent Education Program - Mission: To promote optimal development, behavior and interaction for families of young children ages birth-5 years old.
    • Immunization Division - The mission of the Immunization Division is to provide services which reduce the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases in Oklahoma.
    • MCH Assessment and Systems Development - Mission: To support the health of Oklahoma's women, children and families by providing leadership in assessing health issues, services, and behaviors.
    • Oklahoma Abstinence Education Program - 1. Reduce the proportion of teens 17 years and younger who have engaged in sexual intercourse. 2. Lower the pregnancy and birth rate among teens, especially those aged 15-17 years. 3. Reduce the incidence of STDs among teens. 4. Increase the percent of teens that indicate they have definite ideas and values about why they should wait until marriage to engage in sex.
    • Oklahoma Safe Kids Coalition - Oklahoma SAFE KIDS is a group of organizations and concerned citizens from across the state who began to mobilize in 1989 to fight the number one killer of children. Affiliated with the National SAFE KIDS Campaign, the Oklahoma SAFE KIDS Coalition is dedicated to helping raise public awareness among the general public and policy makers and assisting in the formation of local SAFE KIDS coalitions and chapters.
    • School Health And Child Care
           School Health Program - The School Health Program provides leadership and coordination for preventive health and safety services to children and families through collaborative partnerships with other state agencies and organizations.
           Healthy Child Care Oklahoma - Healthy Child Care Oklahoma is part of the Healthy Child Care America campaign; which is based on the principle that families, child care providers and health care providers can form a partnership to promote the healthy development of young children in child care.
